Check out out the fun photo challenge we cooked up with our friends over at JPG Magazine this week: Guess What.
Take a picture of something close up so it’s hard to tell what it is, then get people to guess!
The challenge is open through next Wednesday, so submit soon!

I squealed like a girl in pigtails watching Hannah Montana in 3D when I learned Derek Powazek’s newest creation, Pixish, has launched in beta. I’ve been wondering since last summer what the site would be . . .
Here’s the short version: Pixish is a new site where you can create image contests.
But the short version doesn’t give the new site nearly enough credit for how cool the idea is, you should definitely read the long version.
Looking for pictures, illustrations, art for your project, post an assignment. Looking for something to keep your artistic soul busy, submit your work to an assignment.
Pixish officially eliminates any reason to complain that you can’t think of something to photograph (or create)!

It’s easy to fall in love with your city, but the challenge is to reveal the heart of it in a photograph. CITY Magazine in New York wants you to try!
The magazine is running an international travel photography competition in which the winning shot will appear on the cover of the upcoming Fall Travel issue, along with a host of other prizes. Photographers are asked to submit images that best capture the essence of a city or other travel destination.
You have until 11:59 p.m. EST on June 30, 2007 to discover the essence of your city and submit it to the contest. Good luck!

Our pal Heather Champ just posted about an upcoming Flickr photo exhibition in New York City.
It’s a great opportunity to get noticed for your favorite shots.
Enter by June 26th by submitting one photograph to The Blink of an Eye Flickr Group. A panel will pick the best five and they’ll be shown off at the show. It only takes a second to submit a photo!
(Here’s my submission)
