We stumbled upon a great idea for a new family tradition. This comes just in time for those family holiday get-togethers. Take a picture on or around the same day every year, and compile them in rows. The good thing about this composition is that each picture is taken individually, so if you can’t get the whole family together at the same time, you can still have an accurate representation of each person’s image on that particular day.

Like Easter Eggs? Here’s one you’ll love.
Add a note to a friend’s photo on flickr with the text “ho ho ho hat” or “ho ho ho beard” to add a santa hat or santa beard (respectively) to the photo instantly.
An early holiday friends from our friends at Flickr!
Thanks for the heads up Kellan!

After reading our piece on new-age digital photo booths, reader Justin Heideman writes in to tell us about the photo booth they built at the Walker Art Center. We love the shots they got using a ring flash.
Even better, they posted a complete overview of all the hardware and software they used to make it happen.

As much as I like Captain Jack Sparrow as my background, I thought it would be fun to see what Send Me A Pic, a handy Web-to-Mobile picture exchange, could do. You can search Flickr images and create a customized image for almost any mobile phone*. I had success with my Sprint service.
You will need to have web access on your phone in order to download the image.
*According to the site, currently only Sprint and Cingular networks have been tested. Verizon phones will receive the text message but the phones seem to disallow you to save it as a wall paper.

Who says you have to wait until 2007 to have a new calendar?
HappyNewYear is a Mac-only photo calendar application. It’s simple, but can help you crank out office Christmas presents in a snap! The calendars will fit in a 4×6 frame or an old CD case.
We’ve talked about how to make your own stand-up CD jewel case photo calendar before, so check it if you need a reminder on how to repurpose that Journey CD case.
