These are the simple goals of the great Edwin Land, creator of the Polaroid, written on a 1969 memo to his development team before the invention of the first instant SLR. Land's dream was to create a small camera that could produce photos without the messy, time-consuming process of peel apart film. He dreamt of making photography an every-man's sport. His invention changed everything. Now, decades later, Polaroid is gone, and we've got a phone in our pocket that can record HD video. Yet, we're left thirsting for more of Mr. Land's legendary instant film. We've teamed up The Impossible Project to bring back classic Polaroid cameras in homage to good 'ol Eddy's love for photography, science, and all things miraculous. Polaroid began production on this popular line of Polaroid 600 cameras in the 80s and continued it throughout the 90s. In fact some of you out there may even be lucky enough to have a Spice Girls edition Polaroid 600 hiding in your closet at this very moment (jealouz). This Sun 660 kit (though lacking in Girl Power) comes in a Limited Edition Photojojo + Impossible Project box set and we've only got just a few dozen of them in stock. So once they're gone, you'll just have to man up like Mr. Land and invent one yourself! |
