PHOTOJOJO

Quick version → Photojojo's hiring! We need a fearless, fun-lovin',
super organized photo nut with a gift for getting the word out.
Wanted: Community Marketing Whiz who Doesn't Act Like a Marketer

We're hiring community marketing whiz in San Francisco to help spread the awesomeness of the Photojojo Store.

Here's the deal: We think traditional marketing is dead, and we couldn't care less if you've written a press release or managed multi-million dollar campaigns. In fact, if you often find yourself talking about integrating branding, PR, and social media marketing strategy then you're probably not the right person for us.

If, on the other hand, you live and breathe the internet, and know that spreading the word about stuff is really all about making friends with people and making cool stuff... If you're clever, buzzword-free, and can come up with ideas to get people smiling, and talking... Then you just might be the one.

In short, marketing experience isn't necessary, but you must write sharp copy, know how to spread ideas, and eat the Internet for breakfast.

About us

We're a (tiny) company that's all about making photography awesome in a BIG way.

We run the most fun online shop you've EVER seen. We published a book with Random House (it's been a big seller at Urban Outfitters.) We've got over 290,000 newsletter subscribers, a community that loves us, and we've been seen in the New York Times, Today Show, Wired, Readymade, and lots more.

Why this is rad

This is a dream job for the free-thinkin' quick-wheelin' not-afraid-to-be-experimentin' entrepreneurial hotshot. We're a small team so you'll have lots of opportunity to make changes and take chances. We're looking for people who take charge and make stuff happen.

Plus, you'll be working in a really fun office in San Francisco's Mission District.

What you'll be doing
(besides playing with tiny plastic dinosaurs)

You'll be responsible for getting the word out about all the kick-ass stuff at the Photojojo Store. Including...

  • Making friends with bloggers and mainstream press
  • Brainstorming and implementing creative ways to get people talking on Facebook and Twitter
  • Building on our affiliate program
  • Analyzing promotional efforts (be not afraid of ye olde spreadsheet and analytics!)
  • Inventing new ways to spread the Photojojo Store love
  • Living, eating, breathing, bathing (in) all things photo
  • Eating lots of pizza.

How to Apply

  1. Tell us why you're a super fit for the job. Be sure to include a resume and cover letter. And while you're there, send us some links to your favorite blogs/websites.

  2. Second, we want a feel for your creative process. Send us a few ideas for unique ways you'd spread the word about Photojojo. Be sure to focus on the store, and tell us how your idea would bring people in. (It might help to focus on specific products. Example)

Send it here:
job2010-03-marketing@photojojo.com

If we like what we see, we'll holler ('atcha)!

Do you...

  • Have baller writing skills?
  • Pro-style social media moves?
  • Sickening levels of enthusiasm?
  • Come up with good ideas AND get shit done?
  • Stay ridiculously organized?
  • Love photography more than anything?
