odbol, that is so true! And I'm glad you mentioned "Slumdog" I saw that movie and really enjoyed both story and lookwise.

SuperD, Man Men is stunning...I love the visuals on that show (as well as the fashion wink).

Marleymax , I don't kno much about shooting films but I found the "Kite Runner" to be so well shot and beautiful. I also thought the same thing of "Out of Africa," and "Gandhi" I saw when I was in high school.

belleariel, great mentions. I've seen Wuthering Heights and for me it's in the vein of Jane Eyre even though I think it was made by a different director. And are you talking about the 1944 "Laura" ? Because I was obsessed with that movie in middle school! smile

I'll have to check out "Daughters of Dust".

I really like Ocean's Eleven.  You could capture almost any frame and have an awesome still.

lovelost9...yes, I was talking about the original 1944 "Laura."  There's something wonderful about the lighting and angles in those old B&W movies.  "Daughters of the Dust" is available at Netflix, or you may be able to get it at a library.

Well, I love "Walk The Line" it's a Johnny Cash biopic so the main focus is certainly music but the aesthetics are wonderful. I don't know about everyone else but I think that's another well shot film.

Photonic, I also agree with you about Ocean's Eleven. smile

I just watched Will Smith in the movie Seven Pounds with looking at the composition  of scenes in mind. It is not something I normally do when watching movies. However, the movie was so intense and overall well done that I could not give you any specifics about composition. I was blown away by the entire movie! A must see if you haven't already.

Last night we watched Robert Altman's Company, which was great for visuals, and I realize that in general Robert Altman films are good ones to watch for this reason.
