Impressive Tree Images
Probably a good topic to start a new thread, but my main purpose is to pass on the URL for the latest offering from Digital Photography School (many on this group, I am sure, read their newsletters, but some may not) http://digital-photography-school.com/2 … ree-images The images here are stunning! But perhaps others have some great tree shots to display here too.

That certainly is impressive, ajax! Where was that one found, may I ask?

Thank you Degilbo. This was at Pebble Beach Golf Course in Carmel California. It was a typical moist foggy morning. Beautiful area to visit but way to expensive for common people to live.

very nice pandanus.. where was this taken and do you know what kind of tree it is. It looks like it enjoys being where it is.

I have a few trees i think are impressive. I especially like this one. To me and my grandson it looks like some kind of prehistoric reptile. The twists and shapes of it fascinate me. It is living and bears leafs on one branch. Best viewed large so you can see the reptile head, body, and legs. If you really have a vivid imagination, there are even young reptiles clinging to the mother! I used the one of my grandson in the planet tree on the planet pano page. Click on image for large view.

Thanks, Will. I agree...now I'll have to look for an "unaverage tree"

Those are all beautiful, Belle.
I really love trees, but I find it difficult to photograph them well. This thread will maybe inspire me to try harder.
This is a favorite tree of ours. It's on our friends' farm. They run a CSA (we pre-pay and pick up our vegetables every week), and there's usually a gaggle of kids under this tree, swinging, climbing, or playing in the fort (lower right). I'm pretty sure it's a beech, but I might be mistaken.
This version that I'd put online has textures on it. I'm not sure now whether I like the textures. I might go back and play with it again.

Here is another I really like. this tree is the same one I used for the tree planet pano--one of the winter versions. I am in the process of reshooting it--summer, fall, winter, and spring-- to do a four part (tetraptych) piece. I want to shoot it from the same spot and do HDR, as in the summer version here. The colors are beginning to change here for the fall version!

One more... I think I posted these last year at Halloween time! These very tall trees are about two blocks from my house and were shot from my front yard. To me they look like a family of Dr. Seuss characters! Click image to view large.

Yea Degilbo,I saw those on digital-photography-school.com just yesterday. It did give me a lot of ideas around my area since this area is almost nothing but trees. All you guys have some good tree photos here. I se a lot of these cornfields around here I think would make some cool panoramas in heavy fog. Like everything else, as far as being there at the right time,it's easier said than done.

Australia is blessed with magnificent gum trees in many areas, even in the cities. This is from Toowong Memorial Park, just to the west of Brisbane's CBD:
