Hello, my name is __________.

Now that the forum is off and running (see my Guide post for a nice intro. http://photojojo.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=215), how about a personal introduction?  Not of the proverbial What do you do for a living?  Are you married? variety, but those things and fine and dandy as well.

I'm Alicia, and I love baking cookies, underwater cameras, crocheting, finding a good cup of coffee, watching football, visiting botanical gardens, and going on brewery tours.  I moderate this forum, write for http://gridskipper.com and http://80108.com, craft for http://eternalsunshine.etsy.com, and contributed to a book called Hungry? Thirsty? New York City http://www.amazon.com/Hungry-Thirsty-Ne … amp;sr=8-1 with restaurant and bar reviews. I'm involved in the DIY movement and will have some of my handmade goods in stores in Seattle and London.

Here is a picture of me, taken by my boyfriend:

How about you?

Hello, my name is Stephanie.  I love reading (I eat up anything written by Terry Pratchett or Neil Gaiman), enjoying touristy things in my home state of Florida, collecting things (most notably anything SpongeBob SquarePants) and, of course, taking pictures.  I have an 8-year-old daughter who is by my side in most everything I do.

I shy away from forums as I'm not a very social person and tend to crash and burn on them.  I figured I'd give this a go since the Photojojo pool on Flickr is one of my favorite places to find stunning images and I've learned quite a few things from the newsletters.

Hi, my name is Sharon.  I am a photo fanatic (thank god for digital, cause I spent a looooot of money on film).  I am also a flickr addict and use it to explore the places that we travel to, before we go.  I am the picture taker, never the takee.  We retired a year ago, so I am reading, crafting all those things I wanted to try but never did.  I hope someday to find the one thing I am good at.
OK - the one picture I can live with

Hi, my name is David. I'm a cop in TX and I sort of got into photography by accident. I fell in love with it immediately. My dream job would have to be wildlife photographer, however I would probably be happy doing anything that involved photography or possibly even writing. It seems that everywhere I go I find myself looking for the perfect shot. Unfortunately I have a long, long way to go before I can consider myself a professional.

I love being creative. Unfortunately I just haven't had the time to create much of anything lately. I also enjoy all kinds of puzzles, drawing (not very well), drinking iced tea, riding my motorcyle, and I recently discovered that I enjoy reading fiction in my spare time.

Hey guys, my name is Nandita (Nan for short)...I'm a college student...an art major at Columbia in NYC...born and raised here....love it!  you can read more about me on my bio on:

www.bioregenart.com

Go to the arts category, then click on my name in the lower lefthand corner, and if you like my stuff then please vote for me online!

I am engaging in this utterly shameless self promotion because I'm totally broke after buying a Canon 5D and the winner of the art contest gets a...wait for it...
$20,000 grant!  I entered this thing on a whim because I am new to photography, so I got pretty lucky.

Anyway my favorite type of photographs tend to be dramatic, wacky, cinematic, and over the top...I'm a true blue New Yorker who loves to make a statement.

Oh yeah and my favorite things in life would probably be (besides art), dogs, chocolate, good movies, new music, and people who can ake me laugh.

I'm Karol. I'm in marketing for a living and take pictures for fun. I love creative things - writing, crafting, and of course, picture taking. I also love to crack wise and be surrounded in laughter.

I live in central Maryland - near Baltimore and work in DC. On weekends, I look for new places to photograph. I've been all over the state and have lately been obsessed with "collecting" state parks.

I'm also addicted to flickr (and this forum is gaining on my obsesso-meter as well). I tend to keep to myself, but have found all kinds of friendly, like-minded folks in these places. Yes, I just called you all "folks". Hard to believe I'm not 80.

No picture of me -- Must live up to the stereotype of the photog who hates being on the other side of the lens. Oh yeah, that would be me. Maybe later I'll get a picture of my nephew mocking my picture-taking pose (think crouched over, butt out, legs sturdily balanced) and post it instead. He also loves to crack wise. Good thing I love the kid!

And I digress.

It is nice meeting you all. I sure hope we keep this forum going for a long time. Thanks to the Photojojos for their work!

Hi! My name's Amit and I started this Photojojo thing.

I love photography of all kinds, including street photography, photoblogging, and photo games. I like to make stuff and usually have a couple cameras on me wherever I go.

I'm also really into this whole Internet thing, and organize tech events and do other miscellaneous tech stuff, including a fun coworking event I run from my apartment called Jelly.

I live in New York near Times Square, which most New Yorkers really hate, but I kinda love. I'm moving to San Francisco in a few months.

http://www.photojojo.com/forum/img/posted/resized_img46b3682370bf4.jpg?url=http://farm1.static.flickr.com/203/495489419_ed5d1dab30.jpg

This photo was taken by a remote-triggered Flickr photobooth I set up with a friend at an art party I organized with my roommates a couple months ago.

p.s. Hi Stephanie, Ashley (what is that animal on your shoulder?), Sharon, David, Nan, and Karol! big_smile

So, Amit, YOU are responsible for another of my photo addictions - but at least I have passed it on to others - you know, share the pain???

thanks for the fun

Hello Amit. I also have passed this site on to others. This is the first site where I have felt comfortable posting and especially sharing my photos. I hope it stays as "amateur" friendly as it has been. Thanks.

Hello Everyone!  My name is Laura Carter.  Let me tell you a little about myself...

I LOVE going to concerts and I have seen over 200 bands live. I have also met most of my favorite bands.  One of the bands I met was Green Day, and I would have to say that that was quite an interesting experience.  I LOVE photographing bands, people, animals, and beautiful nature scenes.  I also LOVE reading, cross-stitching, Sea World, going to the zoo, and I love MINI Coopers!!!

Hello everyone - I'm Dan. There's not a lot of interesting things to say about myself. I've always loved photography even though I use to rarely take pictures. Now that I'm actually taking pictures my love of photography has become an addiction - Photojojo being one of the "drugs" that keeps me going.

I dropped out of college after 3 years to start a web design business - which I kept up and running for 10 years before taking a position with a company as a web manager.  Don't let the title fool you I'm the only one in the "web department".

I'm a Capricorn - born the day after Christmas - still trying to find my "calling" in life - can't stop this urge to keep learning about everything and anything - my "to do" project list is constantly full - and ... yeah that's about it.

Hi all, I'm Ben.
I'm from Nottingam in the UK.
I'm addicted to photography, although I'm also interested in electronics and computing.

I enjoy using both digital and film - I process my own black and white and colour film, and I have a darkroom set up in the loft for b&w printing.

Sounds like Ben is the pro - my brother used to print his own photos - as does a friend - seems like a lot of satisfaction to have control from start to finish.

I took a photography class several years ago and I got to print my own photos too.  It was a lot of fun and I hope to get to do it again.  Recently I have just been using digital.

amit - i really like the photo booth you set up! i've been looking into creating one with white background but currently don't have enough space in the apartment to do so haha. bARTer sounds like it was a ton of fun and the pictures on your flickr look so colorful and fun.

Thanks, Ashley! It was fun to set up. We didn't have a ton of space either and ended up standing the tripod on top of the kitchen range to get it far away enough from the wall. Not the safest, but it worked out.
