Do you want to play "Guess what this is?"

My friend and I started a game on Flickr. We are taking pictures of things REALLY close up. I don't know if I would officially consider it Macro though. I don't want people taking pictures of like bugs legs because that would make it WAY too hard. Just take a picture of a "part" of something where it's unidentifiable that way people can guess. Once several have written what their suggestion is then post the FULL picture of the item for the answer. I am sure this has been done before here on Photojojo. But I thought it would be fun to see what other people would come up with other than just my friend and I.

*Also, the picture doesn't have to be perfect (obviously mine could be clearer) since it's just for fun!

Here is my first pic:

I think we did used to have a thread like this a while ago - but it died a while ago. Glad to see it revived!

is this a straw with beer bubbles?

Glad you got this game going again! My first impression is something to do with honeycombs.

drinking beer through a straw? really?

Could it be a large kitchen eye dropper filled with gravy juices used for basting roasts?

I am guessing shampoo in a bottle.

Is it part of a distillery?
You could possibly wait for ten replies or 24 hours - which ever is the lesser. Just a suggestion.

Glad you've resurrected this game smile
I'd have said a baster, but that's already been knocked on the head... it seems to be graduated, so it might be for measuring something.
Is it something to do with wine making or beer brewing?

I agree with Jannz (10 guesses or 24 hours).

The lines on the side make me think it's something for measuring. I know this is similar to the basting guess, but I'm going to guess that it's one of those tools for removing fat from chicken broth or drippings.

It's funny though -- we're all in the kitchen. I could also see it having some sort of automative link.

Yes, that's my flickr, but most of my photos are on Picasa: http://picasaweb.google.com/superdewa

I'm guessing that it's one of those colored thingies that are inside a barometer.

I certainly wouldn't want the contents of that in my wine or beer wink

Next one: The bottom of a fizzy drink bottle?

Okay, have stared at it for 10 minutes. I'm gonna go with leaves of a glass flower.
So, yeah, I've got nothing. (again) smile

alamokatlady; I suggest we do one at a time, to avoid confusion - or you could start a new thread.
