Homemade Cameras?

Has anyone ever made a camera, pinhole or otherwise?  I would like to try my hand at this some day, and am interested in any websites, books, etc. that you found helpful.  I remember using a pinhole in high school, but recently I stumbled upon the site of Jo Babcock (http://jobabcock.com), who makes pinhole cameras out of a coffee maker, lunchbox, van, etc.

I have built a few pinhole cameras.
They range from pinhole lens caps for my EOS's up to a 5x4" large format camera.
sample from the 5x4":

I've currently got a rotating panoramic camera in the works;

And although it's not a camera as such, I have built an infrared breakbeam trigger that can be used with nearly any electronic camera:

All good fun..... smile

BTW, I think Jo hangs out on the f295.org forums.

I've built a Pringle's can  pin hole in school. We used photo paper instead of film.

I really want to try this one:

Wow, where do I begin?!?  The panoramic camera on leopard print is especially nice!  How did you learn how to make a pinhole camera?  I want to amass some links or book suggestions.  I found out about Jo Babcock through the f295.org site, actually!  He was at the symposium in Pittsburgh (my hometown), but I didn't get to go.  Nonetheless, I was amazed by his pinhole cameras on the website.

Pointer to pinhole photography resources on the Web

I also did a search for "pinhole" on del.icio.us and got 2126 results.

cheers.

My pinhole cameras have all been cobbled together, with questions asked after construction smile
Both of the 5x4s have been around f/320, which is a reasonable compromise, and both have been around "normal" focal length. The first one was slightly telephoto, and the second slightly wide.

The panoramic should be fun when it's finished, but it needs a lot more tweaking. It's all software driven, so I can change things on it by reprogramming it.

http://www.mrpinhole.com/ has some useful calculators and such to help work out what your aperture and focal length are.
All you really need is a lightproof box with film on one side, and a small hole in the other.
