Project 365, anyone?
If you're unfamiliar with Project 365, I encourage you to take a look at Taylor McKnights's tutorial on Photojojo: http://photojojo.com/content/tutorials/ … oto-a-day/ Briefly, it's about taking a picture everyday as a way of documenting a year through people you met, food you ate, places you went, etc.
If you are currently in the middle of this picture-a-day undertaking, we'd love to hear from you here on the forum Since this is an ongoing project, there will be a weekly post on the forum where 365ers can post their favorite/best/most interesting photo from the week. Just as Taylor suggests in the tutorial, you can give us an idea of why you took the photo and what's happening in it. Feel free to link to a blog if you're keeping track of your Project 365 that way, or to a photo group on the web.

I just started a "Picture a Day" project on July 1st - so yeah I'm only 2 photos in at the moment. The plan is to go the whole year doing this, but if I can last that long I may just keep going.
(I'm at work right now so sorry this reply was brief...)

Yea, I'd like to be part of this so here is my first actually taken on Sunday. My son and I were on a bike ride and I took my camera along just in case a photo op presented itself and one did. Not as great a shot of the swans as I'd have liked, but the fence in the forground gives it some nice depth.

I started in October; http://picasaweb.google.com/chas66/P365 , however I've 'fallen off the wagon' and missed a load of days in June. I'm going to pick up my game though and treat the missed days as a minor hiccough :-)

I love the bookstore one too! I pretty much always want to be lost in a sea of books like that!
The telephone pole "face" is really funny!

I started mine back in Oct/2006 and I'm really enjoying it. I have been told there are not enough people shots so I am working on that. I'm a few weeks behind but will catch up soon.

Wow, you took some beautiful shots! I love the one of blue glasses (May) and the black and white drums. I'm usually lacking people shots as well...I always felt like they "ruined" my photos, even though I'm a people-person. Great photos!

I guess I'm not the only one missing people in mine. Seems like the people aren't as interesting to photograph everyday as the places we go. Or maybe taking a picture every day makes us look at our world differently - like we see the oridinary things in our world differently...

Howdy. I'm in my third year of running a photo-a-day blog (and about ten days away from my thousandth image):
http://www.blipfoto.com/joe
It's a horrifically addictive thing to do - I often wonder if I'll ever stop!
If you're thinking of doing the same, there are hundreds of us over at Blipfoto doing it every day and you could do a lot worse than hook up with us. It's free to use and completely free of ads.

I keep waiting for the right day to start the project, and i've decided to start on my birthday, on july 24th. It will be interesting since this is my last year of school and I'd like to see how I transition into the real world! I plan on using a Flickr set for it. That makes sense right? Another thing i'm going to do is hold up the date in every picture I take of myself (or of something more interesting), whether it be on a paper, written somewhere...we'll see!

Hi there
I started a Photo365 project last October - in competition with my friend Chris (Chas66 above). Not missed a day yet, carry my camera everywhere - a Sony T10 if anyone's interested, very compact! Perfect for this type of project.
Whenever my camera comes out on a night out my friends are all jostling to be Pic of the Day - it's very amusing.
Here's a link to my album on Picasa ---> http://picasaweb.google.com/debsarama you'll notice that I've organised by volume too as I've actually created a photobook (via Photobox) each quarter to have a physical record too. It's amazing looking back at the pics, a brilliant way to diarise your life.
I can't imagine ever stopping taking a pic-a-day and it really does make you a better photographer.
Enjoy! and keep it up! Debbie

Great idea mezz! If you get a daily newspaper it would be great to show was was on the front page each day.
Debsa - nice shot of London Bridge.

It's really interesting to hear everyone's way of doing Project 365, and see the different photo sites in action. On the photojojo forum here, like I said at the top we're going to post a thread every week and you can add a photo from the previous Project 365 week, so definitely keep that in mind!
Wow, I like the idea of taking a picture of yourself each day. Mezz, you mentioned you'll start doing it soon, and michael, thanks for the link (you have to register with photoblog to see her pics)! It's cool to have a theme to direct you photo a day snapping, maybe even something as general as "sights that made me smile." Another neat way of doing it would be to take a photo within the same hour, say 5-6pm for a month, and then choose a different hour bracket the next month, and see how those compare/contrast.
