Chuck -- I know there are a few companies that make inkjet-printable fabric. Would you be satisfied with making this yourself, or would you rather find someone that can make it for you?

Cool idea!

I have something called T-Shirt Transfer inkjet paper, from a company called Inkworks that I've never used before.  I think it was around $10 for a 10-sheet packet.  I don't think my printer is functioning enough lately to really use it, but this wouldn't be a bad DIY project, and taking it to a print/copy shop might give better results.

Canon make inkjet T-shirt transfer stock for use with their printers. I imagine it would work with other machines though.
It's a whitish film that you print onto, and then iron on to the garment. It's apparrently also waterproof, so the printed garments can be washed without dissolving the inks.
I have a sample pack in the stuff that came with my printer, although I haven't tried it yet.
Let us know how you get on.

I took a class @ a quilting store that had us take our photo's to a copy store like Kinko's and have them transfer the image onto heat transfer paper,   ((( let them know that you will be transfering the image onto fabric)))     then I took the images to a tee shirt store (you know the kind of place that uses that heavy hot iron to transfer decals and letters onto sports jerseys and such) that transfered the image onto some 300 thread count fabric ( a white twin sheet cut into squares that I had previously washed and ironed )
it transfer the image exactly to the fabric....so from there you could make a mask from a old photo possibly 8x10 of yourself and make your own life size mask of yourself from your high school days. The photos is washable after too. What a great idea.  Have fun.
