Camera Hacks

In today's Photojojo we showed a simple hack to build a windscreen for your digital camera's mic to cut out noise when shooting in windy situations:

Have you come up with or found any great camera hacks?

My hack: Replace the broken LCD display of a Canon Digital IXUS 700 (SD500)
without the need to pass through the camera shop, that is.

The full how to: http://exploded.awcr.org/DigitalCameraDisplay

@kgreer, what have you tried? I've not done it myself, but I've heard of folks using wax paper, tissue paper, and even cloth to soften the flash.  Good luck!

Another Hack for the Flip Video - Make it Tripod ready: I found it difficult to hold the camera steady for longer periods of time while filming.  So I went to the hardware store, bought a nut to fit my tripod head (8 cents) and superglued it to the bottom of my Flip Video camera.  Instant Tripod Ready.

Lifehacker had a post on diffusing the flash, using a coffee filter, and many commenters suggested other simple, DIY alternatives like paper towels, hankerchiefs, and tissues.

I've found that coffee filters work great, as well as paper towels, but only the really soft kind. It seems to soften it, rather than to cut it out sharply? Idk, what else do you guys use?
