What are you into shooting lately?
lately i've been in to shooting a few specific things + am curious what other people are attuned to look for, camera in hand.
1. moments when technology is integrated in to daily life transparently. also related, i love taking pictures of electronics that have been broken + left on the street as trash.
2. interesting buildings. don't know why but i love looking at the spaces in which we live + work + play. especially when they demonstrate some kind of thoughtful beauty rather than the normal suburban banality.
anything you specifically look for or love when you find?

I'm a sucker for weird/funny sign-age... and the orange sunlight you only get at sunset. I can't help but snap a few whenever the sun's setting and I'm out and about.
In general, the past year I've found myself using my camera more for documenting my life than producing artistic photos.

I love a good diagonal line. Don't intentionally go out on a "diagonal quest", but that sure seems to be what I compose.
Other than that, I'm looking for the pretty and interesting around me.

My boyfriend in his $5.99 pilot sunglasses from Target, a purchase inspired by similar glasses at Amit's bARTer!
Clouds and light (how original!)
I take a lot of pictures of my art/craft right now for selling and blogging purposes, so I'm trying to get better at photographing glass and in general, colors, so that they represent the real colors.
Also, food. Because I cook and bake all the time, and only recently started taking photos of it. I'm not that into food presentation, it's more about documenting what I made and maybe blogging about it with the recipe.

As always, I'm mainly on the hunt for urban imagery that can effectively symbolize the feeling on the street. In another way I document or record images where larger-than-normal crowds are forming. Last winter I was interested in exhibitionists. Lately (because of my dog) I shoot a lot of central park. NYC is ever-changing, always in states of creation and destruction.

I seem to be favoring buildings at the moment. At least thats what I ended up taking photos of when I went Birmingham last week. I do occasionally branch out in to theatre photography and take photos of some of the cakes I've made, if only to make my friends jealous!

"Shoot what you know," is the advice I always get. Capture the "stuff" that you see every day without thinking. Sometimes you can turn the most mundane into the most catching...

Nice topic, I hate to see it get buried so...
I've been fascinated with cement. You don't usually think about it or look closely at it so you think it's uniform, but it often has strange weathering or great, old stains.

It's not really what I'm shooting but lately I've been in a "black and white" mood. Probably a good 90% of my pictures lately have been in b&w. It always seems to help make a boring subject appear more "artsy".
alicia - the few color pictures I have been taking have been mostly of clouds so you're not alone. I think because I'm trapped inside most of the day being outside and seeing the sky and the clouds makes me feel liberated.
