Picture 487 of your Jamaican vacation photos fading by as some Caribbean muzac plays in the background. Yeah, photo slideshows can be kind of a snore. The solution? Animoto! Think of it as a little black box filled with film & TV producers, techies, indie rockers, and robots. You put your photos and a song in one end, shake it up, and a photo music video pops out the other end… with pro-level post-production, animated cuts synced to your music’s beat, and oh-so-much style. And it only takes a few clicks. (Really!) The robots do all the work. The 30 second videos are free and they’re perfect for mailing to friends or posting to your blog, MySpace, Facebook, etc. Longer videos cost a few bucks. Special for Photojojo subscribers: Sign up for free by Sunday using this link and the swell lads at Animoto will put a credit in your account for one free full-length video. (It’s okay to tell your friends.) p.s. Here’s a fun Animoto video we made from photos taken at a photobooth we recently set up.

[…] This morning, while looking at the latest post from photojojo I was introduced to Bishop Allen. Despite that this photo makes them look like the goofy cast of the late 90’s sitcom, Friends, I found their music to be refreshing, akin to something from the Ben Folds’ Five or early Dave Matthews, when he was still touring colleges. The song associated with photojojo was ‘Click Click Click Click’, which you might imagine has a refrain involving a camera. It also seems to have a greater story about Maria, but the musicians leave that up to us. Thanks to their website, Bishop Allen has allowed me to listen to songs off their four albums and their January EP. It is totally worth the trip to listen and download a song or two (DRM Free!). I find the music to be somewhat ntoxicating, addictive, and will thankfully be able to listen to it many times, over and over. Buy their music on their site, or if you must, and don’t mind the DRM, iTunes. […]

[…] It’s been a long time coming, but I finally got around to checking out Animoto, one of the coolest sites to be making the rounds on the blogosphere lately. I first got wind of it from the Photojojo Blog, and after Jim Wenzloff wrote about it too, I had to check it out for myself. After getting an account on Animoto, logging in, and playing with the options to create my own MTV-inspired photo slideshow, I only have one word…”slick!” […]

[…] When people walk into my office they will find a pretty funny sight - 6 people (up to eight) all sitting silently in front of computers with headphones covering their ears. Needless to say, we go through a lot of music. In my own music library I have just over 2000 songs ranging from classical to hip-hop with everything in between. Choice just depends on the task and mood at hand. Thankfully I had some people introduce me to some new music this summer which set me on the quest for even more. This morning, while looking at the latest post from photojojo I was introduced to Bishop Allen.
