[…] Fun with photos, CD jewel cases and big magnets I found this cool tutorial on Photojojo showing how to use CD jewel cases as picture frames and decided to use it to spruce up the empty wall in my home office. I didn’t like the velcro idea because, to me, it didn’t lend much to interactivity. My original plan was to buy a 48″ x 36″ piece of sheet metal and mount it to the wall. I couldn’t find sheet metal I wanted at the HoPot. I did, however, find some wicked cool 8″ x 34″ magetic brass kick plates that I flipped, screwed into the wall and attached my CD case frames to with some washers and double-sided heavy duty adhesive. […] Photojojo is a great page that has incredible ideas what to do with pictures. For example, they show you how to do Photo Blocks or DIY Jewel Case Frames. But the best is definetely The Rasterbator. Yeah, sounds like gadgets for women but it makes it possible to have your own Gursky. It simply splits a picture to several files which makes it possible to print them and them hang them on the wall. Sounds awesome to me. […]

[…] While surfing the web yesterday I came across the website Photojojo. One of the articles I found on the site tells how to make a Photo Frame using a CD jewel case. (DIY Instructions here) This is a great idea but I wouldn’t use the Velcro ad a means of hanging these on the wall, the back half of the Velcro would wreak havoc with the paint and sheet rock of the wall. Instead I would use one of those stick on hanging loops or if you wanted to hang these on the fridge, you attach a strip of magnet to the back. […]

[…] The other day, I found an article over on photojojo about do-it-yourself wall art. It uses old (or new) CD jewel cases as elevated frames. After watching the video, I had to try it for myself. You don’t really need to follow the video exactly, common sense should get you by. All you have to do is cut out a picture, place it behind the CD tray, and hang it on the wall. If you don’t have any “wall worthy” photos, everystockphoto.com, is a great place to find free (as in bird and beer) media. Sorry for the lack of updates. You’ll find some feature updates as well, check out the tags. […]

[…] In their first ever video-tutorial, Photojojo detail how to create very stylish and modern-looking photo-frames from CD jewel-cases. For this project you’ll need jewel cases, some cardboard, a craft knife (or sharp scissors), double-sided sticky tape (or glue), and Velcro (or blu-tack). […]

[…] Seeing as how I’m getting so much into photography lately, I’ve been looking for some ideas of what to do with my favourite photos instead of simply keeping them online. I want to bring some offline and display them. Photojojo is an awesome resource with plenty of neat ideas. I particularly like the CD jewel case frames and magnetic photo rope projects (I ordered magnets off eBay, gonna make my own). I also plan on taking a picture a day for 365 days starting in the new year, so look out for that (future home is here)… […]
