Some things are just made to be together: Peanut butter and jelly. Chocolate and bacon. Your DSLR and your phone. Wait! Really?

Yup! The Triggertrap is your camera's lifeline to awesome, joining two of your favoritest things. It's a sync cord that lets you control your camera's shutter with your iPhone, Android phone, iPad, or iPod Touch via an app.

The Triggertrap is not just a shutter remote. It has many many modes: standard trigger, motion trigger, sound trigger, time-lapse, distance-lapse, face detection trigger, customizable HDR and more. (Features vary between iOS and Android phones. Click that "Features" tab for a full list).

Plug the cord between your phone and camera, download the app (it's free!) and you're good to go.

The sound trigger fires your camera by sound, even when you're across the room. Cram your friends together and make some noise! Or snap the money shot with a huge, "SURPRIIIISE!!"

Boogie down with the motion trigger for hilariously fun pics. Catch Fido sneaking onto the couch. Or dance, jump and mosh in your living room to get candid photos of your pals having a blast.

You'll find making time-lapses and distance-lapses is extra easy since the Triggertrap app uses a bright, fumble-free touch-screen interface. Just set what intervals you want your future masterpiece to be shot at, and let it do its magic.

Likewise with the HDR and Star Trail modes -- just pick your exposure range to get perfectly bracketed shots or set a schedule for shake-free long-exposures of the heavens. You'll get crisp night shots every time.

DSLR + Your phone = Perfect. Bacon + camera? Hmm.

    Works Great With...
    • Control your camera with your iPhone, Android phone, iPad or iPod Touch
    • Shutter trigger, sound trigger, motion trigger, time-lapse modes, HDR and more! (See 'Features' tab for a full list)
    • Friendly, easy-to-use touch-screen interface
    • We've got a model for most cameras! (See 'Compatibility' tab for details)
    • Cable stretches up to 3.5 feet
    • The Triggertrap only works with the Triggertrap app. You'll need a smart-thing to control it
  • FAQ

How the heck do I use this?

First, download the free Triggertrap app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch or your Android phone and fire it up. Plug one end of the Triggertrap Camera Remote into your phone, pod or pad's headphone jack and the other end into the cable release port of your camera. That’s it!

Can I call or text while it's going?

No, it’ll stop your exposure. You should put your phone on Airplane Mode or finish that text before you start your shoot. You don’t want to be bugged while you’re perfecting those star trails, anyway.

Will my exposure stop if my smart-device falls asleep?

The app keeps your device awake, so it won't fall asleep. w00t.

Does it let you trigger videos?

Only if your camera's video recording is triggered by the shutter. Some do, some don't. Check it out! We'll wait.

    What's a distance-lapse?

It's like a time-lapse (a series of photos taken over time) but the app uses your phone's GPS to take a photo at intervals of a certain distance. You set the distance. Taking a road trip? Set you camera on the dashboard and have the Triggertrap snap a photo every half mile!

Did you say I can trigger my camera with sound? How? How?

Yes you can! Hook up your Triggertrap. Set the app to Bang mode. Then just give a shout when you want your shutter to fire. Read a full-on tutorial (and see some great sample pics) right here.
