You know that folder on your desktop full of nearly awesome photos you need to touch up? The ones with red eyes, shiny foreheads, and bright overblown faces? It's time to stop adding to it.

Slip the Deluxe Pop-up Flash Bounce onto the hot shoe of your DSLR and you'll be snapping pro-quality and shadow-free photos without hearing a chorus of "augh! My eyes!" after a blinding flash.

This smart and simple gizmo contains a mirror that directs the flash on your camera up or to the side, bouncing it off the ceiling or a wall to create even, natural light just like the pros do with their external flashes.

It's better than a diffuser because it bounces 100% of the light from your flash instead of just softening it.

You can angle the flash bounce to coax that light to fall just where you want it in both horizontal and vertical photos.

With the Pop-up Flash Bounce you'll finally have clear, evenly lit shots without shadows, reflections, or evil in the eyes of your friends.

Now you'll just have to figure out what to do with all the time you used to spend editing!

  • FAQ

Will it fit on my camera?

The Pop-Up Flash Bounce works with DSLR cameras that have interchangeable lenses, a pop-up flash, and a hot shoe No point and shoots, sorry kids! The Pop-Up Flash Bounce does not work with Sony cameras.

    It works with these cameras for sure: Canon 6D, 7D, 10D, 20D, 30D, 40D, 50D, 60D, Rebel XTi, XSi, 400, 450, XT, XTi, T1i, T2i, XS, 350D, 500D, 550D, 1000D. Fuji FinePix Pro Series. Nikon D40, D40x, D50, D60, D70, D70s, D80, D90, D100, D200, D300, D700, D3000, D3100, D5000, D7000. Olympus E420, E520, E3, E620. Panasonic Lumix DMC-G2K. Pentax K-7, KX, K10D, K100D, K20D, K200D. Sigma SD14 Series.

    How does it work?

To attach the Flash Bounce remove the mount from the Pop-up Flash Bounce's arm, and slide it into your camera's hot shoe. With the flash in the popped up position, slide the Flash Bounce back into the mount.

Angle the Pop-Up Flash Bounce toward the ceiling or a wall and when your flash goes off, you'll flood your photo with gorgeous even lighting.

What settings does my camera need to be on?

You'll need to make sure your camera is on a setting that lets your pop-up flash freely go off. This means keeping it on Auto mode won't guarantee that your flash will always go off. See our Settings Tips tab for details.

If you use a Nikon, make sure to set your camera to Spot Metering. Otherwise, your camera won't give you the right exposures.

    Can I use this outside?

This bounce doesn't work especially well outdoors since it works by bouncing off of ceilings and walls. Just keep in mind, giant white expanses = good!

  • Settings Tips

The Flash Bounce is a cinch to use, just be sure to adjust a few settings before you shoot:

    • Make sure your camera is on Manual Mode.
    • Turn the ISO to 800.
    • Choose the widest lens aperture (that would be the lowest number, which depends on your lens, but might be 2.8, 3.5, or 4.0).
    • Set the shutter speed to 1/200th or 1/160th.
    • Set "Flash On."
    • Go into your "Flash Exposure Compensation" (check your manual on where to find it in your menu) and amp up your flash to +1, +2 or +3. The number will vary on the situation, but you can adjust this to get brighter or less bright flash.
    • Make sure your flash is set to TTL metering (this means Through The Lens). Nikon users make sure to set your camera to Spot Metering Mode.
